I have a website where i was getting around 6000-7000 pageviews daily. But for the last 2 weeks they have reduced to 3000-3500 only. What is the reason can anyone tell.

you are still having traffic, so it is not penalized but your rank may be dropped. Improve your SEO to get back your traffic.

Seriously. Starting to upset me how many people manage to start threads like this. How do you even in your imagination believe that any person on BHW could answer this. Could just be a natural drop in SERPs, or could be some viral thing which stopped on the social medias etc..... Track your traffic, and then its pretty easy to dertermine what happened.

You have GA or any other tracker on your website? Share the stats from before you had 7000 views a day and now, then I will be more than happy to help you :) But right now youre not giving enough information.

What he means to say is that with the minimal amount of information you've provided the only 'answers' you'll get is a thread full of rank conjecture that will help you with nothing other than chasing your own tail. Short version: your question is in no way simple unless what you're looking for is a giant list of possibilities.

    • Is the site connected to GWT?
    • Is it a seasonal niche?
    • Related to a holiday?
    • Do you track your keywords?
    • Have you recently built some relatively powerful backlinks?
    • What has the site's link velocity been like?
    • What were the traffic patterns for the website like over the previous 3, 6, 12 months?
    • What is the site's link profile like (generally speaking)?

    etc.

try building some more quality back links to your site to increase ranking
and check analytical reports to check which keyword's ranking has dropped
so that you can use that keyword in anchor while creating backlinks

Check ahrefs or majesticseo to see if you lost some good links. Sites go down all the time because webmasters stop paying for hosting and abandoned sites get hacked, etc.

Other than that, keep building new links to your site to regain what you lost.
