I just registered Ads3ns3 on 5/13 and put the script on the sidebar of Website #1 (281 visitors/day, 1844 pageviews/day, 0 paid traffic) and then on 5/15, I added script to Website #2 (200 visitors/day, 0 paid traffic).

Obviously Website #1 has much more traffic than #2.

But then I review my Ads3ns3 stats for the first 3 days and I see:

5/13: Page views = 20
5/14: Page views = 20
5/15: Page views = 42

HUH??? How is that even possible? My sites have normal traffic and real visitors and your telling me there are only 20-40 page views each day?

Please tell me Ads3ns3 takes a while to kick itself into gear or something.

If these look like real numbers to you, can someone please explain what constitutes a "page view" then ?

Thanks for reading.

Page view mean how many times a page is loaded. From the stats it really hard to tell whether it accurate or not. Perhaps you should consider the fact for a page load not count as an impression such as:
-Visitors had plugin that block ads to appear.
-Crawler/Bot doesn't crawl the javascript hence adsense code is not loaded.
-Bad IP that harm to Google's advertiser.
-adsense ads not serve 100% for each page load.Near to 70-80%
-some visitor just leave before even the adsense ads load up.

Among all I think you should find out whether crawlers more than the visitors that you think of.

something dosen't look right..if you get 1400 pageviews ..you should get more adsense views than what you have got..What tools r u using for tracking? if its awstats..then it exaggerate pageviews..try G analytics and see exactly how many pageviews u r getting

Right, that's why I'm confused! Well for Website #1 I'm using Statpress SEO (WP plugin) which has been pretty good to me and when I have both Statpress and AWStats on a site, AWStats is the one that outputs the bigger numbers and Statpress for me has been closer to Google Analytics numbers. Having said that, it's foolish of me but I'll admit I do NOT have Analytics installed for Website #1, only Website #2. Perhaps I should get Analytics on both for starters.

I just noticed something on Website #1 that might be inflating my stats though. I looked at the Search engine referral page and see that a lot of people are coming to my site through sitename.com/forum/ and the forum has not existed in months. Surprised traffic is still coming through that page, and it must be all those dang pageviews :(

Having said all that, I did use Ads3ns3 once before a few years ago, and i do remember that the first week or so all the results were pretty inconsistent and there was reporting less page views than it did a couple weeks later. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm going to add Analytics to my main site and then re-analyze things. Or maybe by that time, the ads will have been running for like a week and if this did have anything to do with it being new, I'll know that too. Plus, Website #2 has more 'confirmed' traffic also by itself than what I'm showing now.

I think my theory might be partially correct. In regards to stats initially under-reporting on new accounts.

Yesterday, traffic to both of my sites remained the same, and yet the stats jumped as follows:

5/13: Page views = 20
5/14: Page views = 20
5/15: Page views = 42
5/16: Page views = 150

That's an increase of 257% in one day; more than coincidental.

It's still lower than it should be, but I think I'm starting to make a little more sense of all this.
