This is my first venture. I am planning to start a forum which deals with Software Testing and it?s relates posts. My main goal of this project is to build a solid Software Testing forum and flip it for some good money. But, I am not a technical jargon in Software Testing. My idea is to steal content?s from the existing forums and populate mine. Make form big in the post count and driving good traffic to my site by doing some SEO. I will be in needing of guidance form the members of help me out in my venture.
    What I have done?
I have started by registering a domain name www.mockito-mock.com, installed a nulled vBulletin (as of now) and started posting come contents in the blog arena.
What is the problem I am facing?
If it is a word press or jooomla, I could have arranged for an auto pilot and populated the blog area. But, since it is a forum, I have no clue how to populate the content. Coming to the forum part, I totally have no clue of how to populate it. If I am going to do it manually it is going to take year to populate it. Is there any shortcut to populate my forum?
What solution I came up with?
I have a good programming knowledge and I can edit php plugins. I have altered number of php scripts in recent past. I am good in using sql and php. I took a look at the database of the vBulleting and I found it can be populated by some simple steps. I came up with an idea like creating a simple bot which can grab the posts from the given url of the existing thread and insert it to database, by doing so forums can be easily populated. But doing so in such a big DB without proper analysis may cause some problem in current functionality and may cause sql exception and mal function of the forum. So I need to analyze it first if I need to proceed. If I could complete it in a week or two, then it will be of great help to me.
I just made a small POC on this. It goes like this.
    1. Collect the threads which need to be copied into a text file or some buffer location.
    2. Number of users involved in posts. Should be registered earlier.
    3. Bot reads the url, grabs the contends, gets the metadata, keyword, and the posts. Now this is the tough part. Logic to separate the posts and the content. But, already there are number of logics available, so I can Google one.
    4. The posts are populated in DB, which is reflected in the forum.
Sounds easy, But I don?t know how difficult it is going to be.
Now, what should I do? Develop the tool or look for some existing tools. (I have been search for the whole day, but can?t find a tool which can help me).
