(HELP) How to rank for multiple keywords

My page is ranking for only 4 keywords and my competition ranks for over 2k keywords on ONE page only - let alone the whole site

I found out that he doesn’t include some of these keywords one the page also. I can’t figure out why he is outranking me.

Also his domain rating is 0.2.

Any help would be appreciated :)

What does his backlink profile look like compared to yours?
 
1 - Target Long-Tail Keywords -

Long-tail keywords are keywords that have more than 3 words. They usually have very low competition and are easy to rank.

Although the search volume of these keywords is usually low, if you manage to get ranked for these keywords, you will get targeted traffic.

2 - Focus on Your Primary Keyword First -

Key to ranking for multiple keywords is to rank for one keyword very well.

You need to identify the primary keyword in your blog post that has the highest chance of ranking for the top 3 positions and then include LSI

Your content will start ranking highly for different variations of your primary keyword

The link that @tazarbm posted will get you started. Next up is analyzing the first 5 pages ranking for your keywords.

Check his domain metrics (DA/PA/DR and the age of the domain). Check how long the article(s) ranking are (how many words) and also check his backlinks.

Once you have the information, aim to make yours better. Same amount of or more words. Better backlinks.

Ensure that your content answers the searchers intent and that will get you ranking.

Hard to tell the exact reason for this just in a quick look, there could be a lot of different reasons behind this, and I don't think any tool really can provide so accurate info about these sorts of things. Maybe your competitor is using some kind of black hat tactics, maybe he has some PBN links that you can't figure out just by doing analyses via tools, and so on. But, it can also be that his site exists longer on the web, even though the domain rating is low, and that algorithms still give him some advantage because of that. The amount of traffic can also play a significant role here, so it's also something that you should compare and check.
