HELP: How to overlay video or images?

Hi all,

I have a video that I want to put on my site as an intro.

What I want to do is the effect a lot of sites are using, where the actual page goes dark, with a 'popup window' with normal colors containing a photo (well video in my case). This will obviously contain a close/skip link.

As soon as the page is loaded, it needs to darken + display this 'window'.
The video needs to auto-play.
When the video has finished, it needs to close the 'window' and return the site as normal (i.e not darkened)
Search engines need to ignore the 'window' and index the site as normal.
Ideally it would use some kind of flash video player to stream the video while still loading, like how YouTube + others do


Can anyone provide either info, or links to tutorials on how to do this please?

Also I have already tried using lightbox, but I had nothing but trouble with video formats and auto-play, so unfortunately I cant use it.

But this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for!

Is there other good software, online builder, or method, etc that anyone can recommend?
