    Hello guys
First of all I should say thank to dear BHW members. if I am earning anything from IM that only because of BHW.
I read lot of posts on BHW, specially success stories and money making methods.
I have got few local clients who needs websites to promote their business.I want to be appeared as I am a well established web designer. and I got design skills to do so. sites will design on selected WP themes.

But I am not aware the charges/rates
any material which I prepare before meet them and
anything which I should know as a web designer to introduce the service.

So guys I appreciate your help.

The more professional you appear the better, this means the way you dress, the way you talk (assertive) and coming from the standpoint that your showing them how much they're losing by not optimizing their site. This can be done by using a product like Sitebeam (if they already have a website) or how you help manage their site after you design it. What good is a site nobody is coming to anyways.

The best way to find out rates is to get in touch with several companies in your local area and see what they charge by getting quotes from them, then just charge slightly less to your future customers until you get established. Also, don't be afraid to "fake it to ya make it" so even if you don't have a large portfolio just use other peeps work and claim the shit out of it, lol.

I would definitely look into getting the Local Website Designer Toolkit v3 or something like that so you can have the proper forms and you don't get screwed by a jackass customer in the future. The best way to find clients is to "Intercept" them before they make the decision to get a designer. This can be done in several ways but there is at least a three stage process to people starting a business, you don't want to try to catch them in the last phase like every other tom, dick, and jane.
Hope this helps and the best of luck from the gods as they say! Merry Christmas too :)

Once you have a great looking portfolio you have much more flexibility with your pricing model. You will be able to charge whatever you want but aiming for the sweet spot between number of clients and revenue per client. Be very aware that low prices are not always appealing - people use price to pre-determine the quality of your work. People naturally believe they get what they pay for.
I recommend offering big discounts until you have 5-10+ great looking client websites in your portfolio or business page. From here you can start charging more and those initial clients may even send referrals.
