Happens always with new sites. Google goes crazy crawling your site and then just shows a small amount of the pages. Nothing to worry about

@nufaman - Well, the thing is, my site has been around for about a year now :( I am not sure why it is just doing it now...

@nixnash -- Thank you. I do have a sitemap submitted to Google Webmasters and have submitted it... When I do site:myurl, it shows 420 pages, but on Google Webmasters, under Sitemap, it says 22000 URLs, 2000+ Indexed, (but 2000+ is not showing)

    :(

What does "indexed" mean? I know this is a lame question *sorry* but I do not know how to answer this question without asking

For starters you could google for it and you would find what you are asking. Indexed website is a website that has been crawled by a search engine (example Google), the websites found in google results are these indexed websites.

Will an HTML sitemap make for better indexed pages? I have an XML sitemap, but I was reading somewhere that an HTML sitemap may be good as well... Let me know your thoughts, I have a program trying to spin an HTML sitemap up right now, so I guess either way I will use it...?

Go to google webmaster and check for , any crawling errors...specially in sitemaps...If there are no errors you dont need to change anything...otherwise..google for "create a site map".

If you have more than 1000 pages...Google just shows first 1,000 results...after that you wont get the pages...but type in site:yourdomain and on the right hand side of the search check how many pages you see...if thats the number of pages...nothing is wrong...
