Hello,

Months after I changed my meta description and "fetched as Google" in WMT Google is still using the first paragraph.

The page has the right description in the meta. It is set in Yoast and I manually added to <head>
But for two pages Google still uses the wrong one.

Can you please help me?

Is your site being updated regularly or have any new links been sent to those pages?

Have you crawled your site recently with google webmaster tools?

Right click on your website through the browser and make sure the correct description is coming up in your source file.

Google uses the first paragraph to create a description. I have set the right description in the meta all across the site. New links have been sent and it's updated regularly

You can check out your source code by right clicking to check whether it is correct or not...if it is wrong you can interact with Google team regarding the problem..

Well try using fetch as google again... There is not that much you can do about that. or try re-submitting the sitemap.

Your meta description might be less relevant to the query than the first paragraph or it might be too short or over optimized.

force search engines to use your meta with this: <meta name="robots" content="noodp" />

I changed the page title and that was apparently the only thing that made Google change the meta description (and title) in its index. Happy to find a solution after months...
