To make a long story short I have a client that has two Google places setup in two different gmail accounts, one is under a po box in a city he doesn't want to be listed and the other he just signed up in the city he is in without a physical address. I haven't dealt with Google Places much, so a couple questions. He has a listing in the city he wants to be in but doesn't have a physical address but his google places listing says owner verified. Does that mean they sent out the conformation mail to him and he verified it? I'm confused because he doesn't have an address listed in that city. So if he doesn't have an address listed but has the city can he still rank good and will reviews come through if there isn't a physical address? His other listing is in a nearby city (10 miles) and it is listed under a pobox and that was verified for sure. But that listing is in the city that isn't the main city he wants to be in and rank for. But it's really close, so I'm not sure if I should just stick with that and rank that for the major city. I don't want to delete the one with the POBox because I read Google doesn't accept POboxes now, so if he can't get a physical address then he might be screwed right? He works in a field you don't need an office so that's why he is doing this. I guess I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go. Keep the listing in the larger city without a physical address or go with the smaller nearby city that has a PObox and try and rank it in the nearby larger city. Is it hard to rank at the top of google places from a nearby city? What a mess, thanks for reading if you got this far. I would appreciate any help cuz I'm new with Google Places.
