Help getting back on the explore page

I have a page that was frequently getting on the explore page with each post averaging 100k-150k impressions. Was having very steady healthy growth with the use of engagement groups within my niche.
I took about 6 months off from posting - fast forward to today. I am using same engagement groups with accounts ranging 100k - 300k - 750k followers (the all are seeing the similar healthy steady growth I was before I took time off.)
I am posting multiple times a day (2-4 times) for about a week. Went from losing more followers a day than I was gaining to a positive number. So I consider the account still alive, but obviously a lot of inactive followers.
My question is how can I get back onto the explore page in 2018 each of my posts are only reaching about 15k impression and are barely reaching the explore page. What are some tips to bring this account back to life and bring back a steady healthy growth of new followers?

And it’s not going to be immediate. You need to remember that they stoped liking your posts because you stopped posting. As far as the algorithm is concerned they don’t care about you anymore so you slowly get to work your way out. What you need to focus on is getting on the timelines of your new following to build that engagement. The old following is a long game now.

Yes posting same content, stuff that is/has gone viral with other accounts.
So basically I’m starting at the bottom of the barrel again. But if I keep doing what works over time should get back to where I once was? I know what I’m doing right now is working because my followers per day aren’t going negative anymore.

Yes I'm sure you'll be back on track, just be very patient.
Try being really active, like and comment posts and post stories and whatnot. With time you'll be back where you were and you'll be able to keep growing.

(It kind of happened to me too in a smaller account, took six times off and thought it was dead for good but it's resurrecting with love and patience and growing again).

You can try automation if you weren't doing that before, or powerlikes or shoutouts for example.
