I'm sure there's a trick to this - but It's driving me crazy and I don't usually use wordpress for anything other than my blog network.

I bought a site which was hosted at wordpress and want to move it to my own hosting.

I have used the export feature and got my xml file, but when I try to import into an empty WP on my hosting it tells me the file is too large and won't upload it.

Anyone know a simpler way or workaround?

You gotta export the sql from mysql if you wanna migrate Wordpress, PartyMarty. Use phpmyadmin or if you get really lazy there's wptwin that should be available from the dl section.

Phpmyadmin version with pics :D

thanks anyway - but I don't think the first way works with sites hosted at wordpress.com, they don't give you ftp access

and I'm now trying the second
