help. egay/paypal payment - 21 day hold workaround?

well it happens more with new accounts. The more feedback you have the more likely it will not happen.

Ebay will catch on to the ppl who buy a whole bunch of 1 cent items - use your head. Dont buy 100 ebooks or 1 cent items the same day or week cause ebay will know you are just trying to build feedback especially if you start selling. They will say you are absuing their policy or get canned for feedback manipulation.

The way I get around it is to be there at the end of the auction and the minute the item sells jump over to the "sold" page and click the "mark as payment received" option. This keeps ebay from sending their invoice. Then I go to paypal and send an invoice to the buyer through the "request money" page (there is an option there to create an invoice). The buyer pays via my invoice, paypal doesn't recognize it as an ebay item so it doesn't hold the funds. Since you have to be there within seconds of the auction ending it doesn't work with "buy it now".

You can try selling on amazon, no listing fees huge traffic

Hey stang; is this fact or just speculation?
Has anyone had it happen to an account with more than 100 fb?
I sold a $160 item 2 weeks ago and turned right around and paid my dropshipper with no problems. That seller ID has over 700 fb though, but it would be good to know if it is a possibility so I could be prepared.

Any experience would be most helpful.

Since BHW member FreeTheTV wrote his thread about that PayPal Hack a few months back on this forum, and the idea (which was already being shot around ebay's forums a year prior but had since disappeared) was leaked to other forums such as Digital Point and Warrior Forum, PayPal got wind and disabled the refund trick.

However, once in a while, when the PayPal account is rather aged, the method still works as a "great customer discount" or a "shipping refund". Other than this method, I don't know of any other good workarounds for the 21 day/positive feedback/shipping confirmation payment hold.

In my opinion, eBay ahs gotten more and more difficult to be blackhatted, but has also suffered quality issues with its whitehat sellers. I suggest you quit eBay and give Amazon a try, or find a different method to make yourself some money. Dropshipping works, but only if you have the money on reserve to pay for the items until the hold is released.

Merchant account, merchant account....GreenGoblin, you know where to get a good one that disperses your funds to the bank in 48 hours or less? You seem to know a lot so I'm asking. Hopefully you can help.

you can try Google Checkout but they are though now and also you have to hide it from Ebay or have a pre 11/07 Ebay account .

Seems to me the only way to get around this is to have backup funds. In my experience, this is more effective with a credit card. Let's say the said auction ends, you can go pay your shipper for the item with the card (if they even end up holding the funds) and once you get the paypal funds released just pay off the card.
