write a free ebook that identifies some key interior design problems and suggest feasible solutions for these problems. recommend products in your store as a solution to some of these problems.

promote the ebook in home & garden forums emphasizing that it is resourceful and free. offer a download link that is on a page in your store. if the book is very good, other people will recommend it and this will generate more traffic for you. blackhat way is to use xrumer or a similar software to send pms to forum members recommending your free ebook and the download page.

the quick and dirty way is to find a few good ones that have resell rights and give them out on your site.

you can also do an interior design video that provides useful tips & suggestions and upload it to youtube and other video sharing sites. remember to watermark the video with your domain name. now for blackhat, use tube automator to exagerate the number of views so your video will become popular and get more views.

if both solutions don't work, surf the forum for more solutions. its ok to bitch and curse while you do it. you find solutions faster that way...at least it works for me.:D

What I've seen working for e-commerce sites:

short term quick traffic that converts:
- put ads on craigslist or similar, where people are looking for buying things
- put some items on ebay, leading people to your site to look at other products
- ppc

in the longer run
- article marketing and link building
- on page product description with long tail product keywords in url
- newsletters & email marketing
- yahoo answers seems to be another good way, but have yet to try it out

Hope this helps and good luck :)

any more suggestions!!!

you probably won't like my suggestion: Find another forum to look for help. This place isn't really geared for e-commerce physical goods marketing.
