Firstly I Guess You Posted in the wrong section its for BHW forum feedback and suggestion
I don't have any idea about DMCA Infringment but i guess you should better remove it instead of getting into trouble .
I HopeYou Will receive some great answer soon from OUR BHW DMCA expert's.

I have had DMCA take downs before. My suggestion is comply and take it down, and reply to hostgator saying that the content has been removed. Don't ignore this! Either take it down,or try and work it out with the copyright holder if you feel you are not infringing on their rights.

Hostgator will have to take action if you dont. Cause the DMCA falls on them if you fail to comply.

Edit: I should also have said if you take it down everything will go back to normal. You will get an email from hostgator thanking you for removing the content.

first thing is, is your site all about copyrighted content if so then get it off hostgator asap!

You only have one recourse here and thats to take it down and reply to hostgator saying so that you took it down, that way you site stays up, but if I was you Ill change hosting right away if you niche is a copyrighted niche.
