So i thought i'd try making my first landing page for a method i saw on here, but as a complete newbie i think i messed up. I was browsing around for awhile to find the cheapest possible web hosting because i just wanted to try this thing out. I eventually got my hosting from hostingsource.com with 3$ a month but as it turns out i apparently need cPanel for this? cPanel is an extra 15$/month which im not ready to pay. I thought cpanel was just some interface they used not a separate thing i have to pay extra for. Am i misunderstanding something?

Did you buy a webhosting plan or a VPS plan ? Usually webhosting plan includes cpanel with it.

You may look at youtube for some how to videos as well as udemy. ton of great videos that will walk you step by step

It was the standard web hosting from their site.

If you are starting out, id recommend just using Namecheap stellar hosting.
Allows for 3 different domains and cost $3 a month as well.

There is cPanel as standard and then deployment scripts and everything included.
They also give you free SSH for a year.

If you got any more questions, feel free to send me a message.

From what i can see, their standard plan includes Cpanel/WHM Control Panel.
You should have access to cpanel and just use their file manager and host your website. Contact them to get access if you didnt receive anything, they should be able to help out

Yeah i tried accessing the ip and it showed me a cPanel login page, but it always gave me "invalid login" no matter what i tried so i figured i need to pay for cpanel. Now it just times out when i try to connect to the ip so maybe it's a problem on their end after all.

Yep, i guess you have to contact them to get your credentials, check your email. Most webhost send the credentials to your email

Brilliant, i somehow missed the credentials email. I got the username from the site but was missing the correct password!

It's all good now, the password was in the email. I just didnt notice the email itself before

Glad to hear that everything worked out fine!
