I am readying threads of BHW for a few days now and a few case studies.

I found 2 keywords, related each other. I'm attaching a google screenshot. 01b31bad50dc4957987f2c7.png

Should I proceed with a niche site on one of them at least?

In quotes I get 68.000 results in google, inurl: 7000, , inurl & intitle: 7000 and there is no sniper site on the EMD.

I wouldn't go for them, because the traffic is low and also is Adwords competition.
Here is what I recommend you to look for:

Exact monthly US Searches: 1000 (or more)
    Adwords Competition: High
    CPC: $1 (or higher)
    SERP Competition: Low
    EMD available

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

The problem is I watched way too many videos and read too many articles and all of them are contradictory.

For example, on youtube, title "How to do Keyword Research - Plus Live Examples" (I am not allowed to post URLs) the author says "how to get rid of tight fat" is a good keyword with a nice EMD.

But does google show SERPs ?

LE: found another keyword, 2 words + city for canada, match exact

    • EMD without hyphens not available, only .net is an adsense site which doesn't have too much optimization
    • EMD with hyphens all available
    • competition high, 0.98
    • searches 1900
    • cpc $1.6
    • google search with quotes: 11.000 results
    • inurl, intitle, ~5000 (quite high I think)

    Plese advise a bit. thanks.

No, Google doesn't show the SERP competition.
There are some online tools for that (personally I think they are often incorrect), or you have to figure it out yourself.

Please always make sure you have checked the box for "Exact" to get the exact searches.

You could eventually go for that keyword, but I recommend you to not do it. This is because I think it's very important to find a perfect keyword for the start, cause it will make it so much easier for you. Learning onpage/offpage SEO and stuff is already hard enough, that shouldn't be complicated with a not perfect keyword. I don't like that the domain is only with hyphens available, also I don't like that a city is mentioned. I'll send you a PM with a keyword you can use if you want.

Because I can't reply to PM, I'll write to you here.

First of all, thank you for the keyword idea.

    1. keyword in quotes: 1.800.000+ results
    2. traffic travis seo competition: PR 4-5, backlinks avg 4.000+, SERPs 31.000.000+
    3. inurl, intitle: ~50.000

How can it be easy to beat PR4, or even PR2 ?

Forget those inurl stuff. In my experience the only important things are backlinks (mainly the quality of them), pr of the page and on page SEO.
You don't have to use my keyword man, I just want to help.

Does the ammount of hits on the keyword make any matter?

How fast do you people find a new keyword ? Do you outsource this process ?

most of EMD ideas are taken, without hyphens, but not used, they are only domains available for sale. Is it a good decision to buy the domain with hyphens ?

90% of people will tell you no, and most will have a different answer.

My reason: It will drastically hinder your CTR rate.

Think about it... when you've searched for something and saw a site such-as-this... it just reeks of low quality/spam and you're REALLY not tempted to click it, even if that's not the case, first impressions will screw you over.

Seems like you still have a lot to learn about keyword research judging by your choice of keywords in the OP. I posted a complete tutorial on how to pick profitable, yet low seo competition keywords, check the link in my sig and go to the blog, or you can go straight to it here.

One of the biggest mistakes most beginners make is getting fixiated on one/two keywords they believe to be 'golden' and they start to discredit the reality that those keywords are just not profitable to chase after.

Also, the 'competition' you see in Google Adwords: does NOT relate to seo competition or how hard the keyword is going to be to rank for... in fact, when doing keyword research, you want the competition in Google's keyword tool to be 'hard' - because that means advertisers (that's what google's keyword tool is for) are fighting to advertise for that keyword... meaning, they're outbidding each other and spending more money to get traffic from that keyword.

In short, 'high' adwords/Google keyword tool competition = the keyword is very profitable.
