Hi
Hope this is right place
I tried installing vbulletin forum for my website but I get a 404 error this is what I did

1)uploaded files to server
2)extracted files to website
3)edited config.php.new ---> config.php
4)created mysql data base / username & filled in that info into config.php

When I go to mywebsite.com/install/install.php I get error 404 anyone know a possible reason ?

Much thanks for any help

if you don't have the right permissions for the files you uploaded then you won't be able to see them while accessing from a browser.

Your ftp program (or web interface) will let you change the permissions of files and folders, read the vbulletin README file and see what files you need to change the permissions.

for more information wikipedia this "Filesystem Permissions"

that's probably it

1)uploaded files to server
2)extracted files to website
i usually extract my files locally and upload those to the server using the ftp program.
