Hi there, I wanna start a blog mainly talking about soccer/football. Will be posting about latest news (transfer rumours, injuries, etc), certain match preview with prediction and live streaming of certain matches. Please help me brainstorm a good name for it. Cheers. :)

It is a very popular niche so finding the perfect name is going to be difficult. All I can suggest is a bit of the obvious....if you are targeting Americans, use the keyword soccer instead of football. Just do a google search of the keywords you want to rank for and take a look at the names of the other sites to give you some ideas. Then come back and post about some of your top choices (it is easier to help you when there are some ideas on the table).

f0otball.com ------> LOGO = 0.o jk
s4s0ccer.com
s0ccer.info
ss0ccer.com

how about that hommie ?

If you do not insist on the keyword soccer/football in the name why not go with something like 11friends or another football specific term?

soccercentralonline.com appears to be available. Kind of long though.

bouncebounce.com would have been great (like boingboing but not) but sadly it's domain parked.

PlaysSoccer.com

TrackSoccer.com

BornSoccer.com

FootballNest.com

What about Soccer-Preview.com?
Is it a good idea to have a dash in between?

I've found the perfect name for this niche but I cannot help as i want to use it myself :P

but I would advice not to use all the normal terms "soccer" and "football", try and be creative i know its a cliche but think outside the box.

Since you are going to be streaming live games...What about
streamingsoccer.net or streamingfootballers.com and soccerstream.info is only 89 cents

It will not fully be on streaming live games. Can consider though. ;)

football is the better term interms of the sports and the majority of fans knowing it as that, only north america really use soccer.

I love the term SoccerMum lol... you can't go around here trying to find a footballMum ;)

Now something got me thinking. Is it necessary to start with a dot com site? Or can I go with those free blogs and once the traffic gets higher I change it to those dot com site?

Just thought of one that I think may be good for you.

http://www.soccer-updates.com/

Direct, it generalizes, and it is available as of this moment.

No point doing SEO and building backlinks etc if you're just going to change the address of the site. Plus the blog hoster can pull your blog at any time... Host it properly for the sake of $10 :)
