In my personal opinion, /blog looks nicer to me. If you install WP you have to know that you are in the fact installing a very powerful CMS and I am not sure if you need all that if you plan to host a simple ( company?) blog with periodic updates.
I am not sure what is your plan. Do you also have this website hosted with the WordPress?

As a user, whenever I go on a page and it jumps from www/ to blog/ I think - wait a second, this is something else, so personally I would use wwwsitecom/blog because it looks more as a part of the whole website and not something alien.

    I'd use sub-folder websitexx.com/blog for sure.

Why is choosing websitexx.com/blog the best option for your website?

Your website's homepage is not affected. You have a separate blog page and you can use it as an add-on to your website, helping it gain more views with your writing. You can add additional pages or tabs and make your website elegant instead of a messy one.
