Hi, I'm trying to learn how to do SEO as a new skill with 0 background, and stumbled upon Google Analytics first, I'm trying to input Google Tag onto a website but am having a few difficulties,

1) Must i own the website to tag a Google tag? Can i link it to just https://www.twitch.tv/ to view the data?
2) Must I have Wordpress in order to start? Or Is there any way to start as a beginner

There are tons of posts, threads, Youtube Links, Certs/Courses which are kind of confusing, anyone learned from scratch that could move my compass to the right direction? Thank you!

To answer your question, yes you need to own the website to link it to your analytics account. I also recommend you checkout Google's search console. It's a tool made to monitor your website(s) SEO; very useful.

I can give you some free sauce to rank sites fairly easy. Besides basic practices like using meta tags on your website, one method I use a lot is mass creating blog posts / tutorials / articles that answer a certain question, and link other pages from your site in these articles. I would recommend you use Wordpress on your first sites as it's very to manage your site SEO with it. Hope this helped.

Yes you'll need your own website to use Google Analytics in most cases. Some third party sites that allow UCG will let you connect to your Analytics account, but those aren't really platforms that you need to look at right now.

No you don't need to start with Wordpress, but as it powers a huge portion of the internet I suppose it's best to start with it, as you're bound to run into it in relation to SEO at some point. I hate Wordpress, but began my career on the web 25+ years ago writing html in notepad - it's probably not best to start there nowadays.

You need to own the site yes. I suggest WordPress with the plugin elementor to create your sites because it's easy. But you can try other builders as well such as Wix.

Google has SEO courses available for free.
Just make a search and you'll find those.
