I am trying to rank for low competition niche with about 1500 monthly searches. I am ranking for a ton of long tails but not even in the top 300 for the keyword I am trying to rank for. I am starting to think it is over optimization. Keep in mind, the site has only been up for 2 weeks so that could be the cause, but I'm not sure because the long tails are ranking. I have set up 7 web 2.0's, and plan on blasting them with GSA in the next week or so. I also have one site from my PBN linking to it, but that site did not index until a couple of days ago. My keyword is at 1.6%. The top ranking sites only use the keyword about .5-1%.
I am thinking that this keyword is sort of a longtail in itself because it is a pretty long keyword. Let's say the keyword is "cable box reviews" I use "cable" 6% and box about 3.79%. But I only use "cable box reviews" 1.6%. So my question is, does using cable and box affect the main keyword? I know this sounds a little confusing, but does it affect the main keyword? I have tried researching this but can't really find a question like mine. Thank you.

It seems you are overoptimizing by using too many "cable" words in your site. Lower it and wath serps ;)

You absolutely cannot judge a websites ranking based off of 2 weeks, my friend. In my professional opinion, keep everything as is until the site is 2 months old, and then make changes accordingly. Being antsy this early in the game can lead to mistakes that can be avoided by being patient.
