Hello guys,
I ran into a problem with a LinkedIn account and hoping someone here could shed some light as their support replies are rediculous:
I work for a company that has 5 product lines. They used to have a fake name profile with company and showcase pages attached. So I first corrected the fake profile by replacing it with a real user (Team member) in case the account got restricted. Two weeks later the account gets restricted and I provide them with an ID copy....nothing happens so I reach out to support and this is what they say:
Thanks for contacting us. LinkedIn considers the information and contacts contained within an account to only belong to the individual account holder. It's against the terms of our User Agreement for employers to take over accounts after employees leave a company. Contacts contained within an account don't agree to have their personal information or email address shared with companies, but only with individual account holders. You're welcome to refer to the LinkedIn User Agreement for more information
If I am not mistaken, to create a company page you must have an individual account to which it is attached. So how can the above statement make any sense?? Am I deeply misunderstanding the procedure? Should I grab someone off the street and attach the company pages to their account just because he./she is not employed by the company??
I emailed them again asking if there was a way to abide by their terms and recover the company pages and they replied:
If you have additional questions regarding the page, you can use our Help Center while logged into the company page. If you're unable to locate the information needed, you can submit a query to us from that company page.
But how on earth can I access the company page if my account is restricted...
Has anyone run into this before? Am I missing something obvious??
Thanks in advance for your input
