Help - Adsense website - what next?

Hey, guys!

I have been following VoidRay's $30/day with adsense journey. Pretty much everything he has said to do I have done minus paying for articles and for backlinks... which is pretty much where I'm lost. I have no clue how to build backlinks. I tried posting in his thread, but it seems he's not very active lately due to personal reasons. And, I don't have a tutor to teach me about these things. LOL
So, I humbly come to you guys and ask for your advice.

How do I build backlinks? Do silo style websites really mean you don't need to build links?

Some threads say to go to high PR blogs and make posts on them about my niche.

One guide said to add "related posts" plugin to the website to increase the amount of links within the website and build authority that way.

I read somewhere else on these forums to type on google my keyword or niche + guest articles and write some articles for the websites linking to my website.

Another method went into Silo style of websites, which I assume is Main Page -> Category -> Categories within that category -> Content. And, that by just doing that my website will go higher in the rankings.

I'm sure there are more methods out there of building links, but those are the ones that consistently pop up on my research.

Alright, I'll help you out.
I write an article everyday, have adsense already and I got stuck on the link building part. I've been researching for about two weeks and I've found some great places that is updated and is definitely worth reading about it all.

Here is it, also do not follow the videos specifically, there is an Important Update: Read This" or something like that, make sure you read that because the videos won't help unless you change the way you do link building, It's explained in that other thread. READ IT.

A great way to get backlinks to your site is my guestblogging. Try to find a couple of blogs to start with. Blogs which are in the same niche as you, so you can make relevant content. Contact the owner and ask him, if you can write a guest article to his blog. Try to suggest that he can choose the topic, if that makes it easier for him to accept you as a guest blogger. It is a nice way to get some good links on relevant websites.

And remember to write exciting and interesting articles, so there is some value in it for the blog owner you're writing for.

Edit #3: Oh, man. After watching a few Screw95 videos I think I'm slowly starting to realize that my adsense site niche probably wasn't the best...

I think I picked the wrong niche to get into for adsense.
