help a newbie please!

Hi,
I am new to affiliate marketing and new to this forum. Will probably get slated for this post but its doing my head in trying to find the answer!

This may seem ridiculous but where on Clickbak can you see a list of the products you have already signed up to promote? Can you only see them through reporting?

Is there not like a 'my products' section for affiliates? I see there is for publishers or whatever they are called.

I tried to find hoplink for one of the things I am promoting couldnt. I ended up searching through the marketplace to find the product and when I clicked 'promote' it asked me to create a new tracking ID rather than showing me the one I had created already. I must be missing the point here. Please tell me where to look. Its a steep learning curve as it is and I cant even navigate my way around clickbank!

I feel like I have looked everywhere on clickbank and for some reason I just cant see it.

There really isn't a way to track what products you signed up for in clickbank because you're technically signed up to promote all products. The only way clickbank knows you're promoting a particular product is if anyone follows one of your hoplinks. Once that happens then you can track it in reports, but until it gets a click there isn't any info in your account about what your promoting.

The reason for this is that once you become a clickbank affiliate, your id can be added to any product without registering anything more with clickbank. It's just a matter of structuring the hoplink correctly. All you need to know is your clickbank id and the product id you want to promote. The correct structure for a hoplink to any product is

If you want to include a tracking code you only need to add a tracking id like this

The problem with using that format for your hoplinks is that it shows your affiliate id and many people will just type in the link without your id and you won't get credit for the sale that way. Don't ask why people do that, (they just do) so to help affiliates out clickbank set up a way to encode your hoplink. That's what your doing when you go through the marketplace to generate your hoplink. If you ever find a clickbank product you want to promote and you already know the correct hoplink as explained above, then you can go to

Enter the true hoplink in that form and clickbank will generate you an encoded link.

If you forget the link don't worry about it. Just do as they say and create a new link. Everytime you create an encoded link, as far as clickbank is concerned it's still going to just unencode to the true hoplink ie: CLICKBANKID.PRODUCTID.hop.clickbank.net.

The best thing to do is just start a document in notepad and everytime you decide to start promoting a product add it to a list. In my list I always include the actual product website, the websites affiliate info page if they have one, the true hoplink for the product, and any encoded hoplinks I created.

Simply go to the Clickbank Analytics > choose "View As - AFFILIATE"

Now you will see a list of Clickbank vendors - these are the products you're promoting.
You can now simply type down the Vendor's name into cb-monitor.com to see the full name of the product.

Clickbank analytics only shows the info for any products that recieved any hops during the reporting period. It's good information to track how well your promotion is doing, but doesn't actually have the info the OP is asking for.

I think the OP was looking for a list of all the products he clicked the 'Promote' button for in the marketplace. He didn't understand that if he lost the generated hoplink it's ok to just make a new one.

Clickbank only tracks the products your promoting that have actually recieved hops, and only reports those that happen within the reporting period. If an affiliate finds some really cool products in the marketplace they want to promote, they need to make their own list of those products.
 
Inside Analytics tool you can only see your "order form impression BY Vendors"... and those get updated only when they receive hops...

There is no way to find the ad impressions... so that you can analyze and work on optimizing your CTR etc. Clickbank should bring this change in their analytics...

I love doing this to stupid affiliates that don't cloak their links. Just replace the affiliate username of the product you are going to purchase with your Clickbank username. This shows that you can promote all the products on Clickbank. Getting affiliate material is a different story, you will usually find an affiliate page full of resources. If you don't, don't promote that product. Good product launchers take care of their affiliates. :36:

That's a really good point about looking at the affiliate pages to see what kind of support there is. The best products to promote usually have really good resources for the affiliates.
 
Also I suggest to create a bit.ly account this way is very easy to see all the products you are promoting and see how many click you get and from where are the clicks coming

So true. So very true.

If you happen to know the product launcher ... or you're just really good at doing your own content, you can usually get around it.

However, it really helps when a vendor doesn't shoot himself or herself in the foot by failing to provide decent materials.

Another way to do it is through setting up a WP account on hosting. I posted a tutorial for it here:

But it is still very important to rewrite the material that are given to you in the affiliate toolboxes. You don't need to rewrite the email messages, just edit them to suit your needs.
Rewriting the reviews is a must!
I like to first see what other affiliates wrote to get top ranking for keywords like ["AffiliateProduct" bonus] and then copying some stuff from them.

I happen to be one of those stupid affiliates who dont cloak their links because i did not understand the reason of cloaking until now. It guess it did not matter because i have basically made nothing so far.

Now I search on the forum for cloaking, cloak link, etc and cannot find anything? What's going on? I though I have seen a lot of posts talking about it before?
