Help a Newbie Out: Link Building/Backlink Queries

Hey there guys... I know some of you are pissed to see threads like this. Some would even point me to use the search button. Hopefully no one calls me sick names or anything like that. I just really need help. If you happen to be in a giving mood today, I'd appreciate it. So here it goes.

I just recently dived into the world of IM. I've been reading in BHW for months now. I've learned a lot, and I got inspired. I am now using some of the $$$ I earned through writing articles into Micro Niche website investment. Now I have 1 made, and 2 still in the works. My problem now is to rank these sites.

I know there must be Off Page SEO done. But how do I really get things going? I've seen lots of FREE GIVEAWAYS here like Social bookmarks, blog posts etc. All of them asking for my "own links" that I want to be "indexed". Or my own backlinks... etc. That's really my problem. I don't get what that means. So if I happen to be interested in a giveaway here, which would really help me since I have very small budget as of now, I can't really take advantage of it because I don't know how it works.

Another thing that troubles me is having to "spin" my url or title or content in order to get the free social bookmarking giveaway.

So in short... If you're feeling helpful today, can you kindly enlighten me? I just want to earn and I'm taking action. But let's be real here, all the great info in BHW is too tough to take on all at the same time. I need some guidance.

When they ask for you own links, they mean your website's URL.

There are plenty of ways to build backlinks, including buying services, using software, or just grabbing free blasts that forum members are giving away.

As for spinning, it means that you have to give different variations of the same title in the format:
{Title1|Title2|Title3|...}
