I am not sure where to post this so please move it to the right section if need be!

So I just purchased a domain and hosting via host-gator Now the problem lies in the fact that I have never done this before (creating a website or any hosting type stuff). This seems like it should be easy enough for a normal person but I am either really stupid or missing something simple that I have over looked. I have installed WordPress blog via Host-gator's c-Panel (quick install) but it isn't working I am getting "Oops! Google Chrome could not find ------.com" when I go to my website's domain and I have no idea why, I've been trying to fix this but I am not sure where to start. I've looked at like 20 youtube videos and none of them have been any help.

Here is a Screen Shot of what everything looks like, if anyone is able to offer any help that would be awesome!

Is your registrar DNS pointing to your host?

do you have an index page? edit: i see it's wordpress, so yeah you got an index

File structure seems to be okay. Did you buy both the domain and hosting from HostGator? When did you buy the domain? Maybe you just need to wait for DNS propagation to complete.

Yeah, it should be the DNS. Try from another browser, or restart your computer :)

Did you buy your web name from Godaddy?

Did you add the domain to hostgator (in Cpanel... there is a add domain option).

Did you change Name server ?

Both Domain and Hosting are from Hostgator. Registered the domain on the 21st, I don't know how long it takes for everything to complete, it might be like Glenn BH said "wait for the DNS propagation to complete." How long does it normally take for this to all go through?

Did you bought the domain from hostgator itself? Are you sure the nameservers are pointing correctly to your host?
Answering some of these questions might help in getting the problem sorted out. Also, if you didn't purchased the domain from hostgator, you might need to wait sometime to get the DNS into work. It might take upto 48 hours to come into affect completely.

Ok so I followed that link you posted Glenn (tyvm) and now I am getting

So I assume it is still in the process of registering (I assume because it said "Expires on - Pending"

Twitter - I did buy the domain from Hostgator. And lol I have no idea if the nameservers are points to my host.

Just ask Hostgator to sort it out for you. Most good hosts will help you with any kind of problem.

You should try and clear your cache and cookies. If the problem persist then consult a doctor,. lol Jk just contact their support and I know they will be more than willing to help you out because they can access your settings.

Problem solved! Turns out they are backed up with all of the domains n stuff that have been registered from the last few days cuz of their massive sale.
