I need a PC expert.

I have a set of these I use to fly my drone though, they are wonderful:
http://www.fatshark.com/product/1757.html

However, I am trying to connect this to my PC to watch movies on and shit. It's winter, I can't fly my drone. It's dark and wet, boo hoo.

But its just not having it at all, WTF

How does one do this?

I am worried its a PAL/NSC copyright thing, are HDMI items encoded like this?

this makes me sad. I want to mong out and watch movies in VR but I can't/

Help me mong out.

Nice goggles. I got similar fatsharks, works like a charm. Some folks on fpvlab have success with this:

Dom Hd : plug into computer and power up , computer recognises , down press the cont/bright button to cycle through the different display modes
till you hit HDMI 2D ( or 3D if your watching 3D movie or 3D on youtube ).....and your working
If doesnt work , go to display properties and make sure you are on 720 for the 2nd monitor (goggles)

I think you need to go into your actual control panel, or right-click on the desktop and make sure that you have the second screen enabled. Generally the easiest thing to do is simply tell the pc to clone the images to both screens. For more advanced trouble-shooting you would need to walk us through what happens when you plug them into your computer and the steps you have taken thus far to try to get it work.

The user in the thread referenced above by ORM ended up having his goggles returned to a repair facility. They found no defects, and returned the device to him with a different HDMI cable, and he eventually was able to get the goggles to work using a third testing laptop, so the chances are very good that your device does work, but it might need some specific type of hdmi cable, a particular brand, or it could all be coincidental, and his original laptop might simply have been incompatible with his goggles.

I'm optimistic you'll be able to resolve this challenge, but if all logical steps don't resolve it - don't be afraid to open a ticket with them at fatshark because your device absolutely SHOULD be able to do what you want it to do. The user in the referenced thread above had to do that, but was finally able to enjoy video in his goggles. Good luck monging out!

I have no idea what you taking about guys, but I'm glad to see that Ste Fishkin have troubles :439:

What a nice thing to say...

Now run along child, go and play on the motorway like a good boy

This FPV/drone hobby gets expensive quickly indeed haha. Goggles $600, drone $800, batteries and other bits $400 and the list goes on. Then you send this thousands worth of equipment in to the air expecting it will come back.

what drone you fly btw?

QAV250 - well I did before it flew away.... Always check your fail safe, its a shit lesson to learn.

Currently building a QAV210, should have it done for spring. It's that wet and windy here there is no point having one so I'm talking my time building it. It's also dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home... no chance to fly anyway.

A friend of mine recently kissed his 10k euro setup goodbye. Those fly aways are fun to watch.

I got tbs disco ready for summer 2016, London. Anyone is welcome to join

Haha what if you had that gay robot shit on and were drone-fiddling, and someone came sneaking up and punched you square in the god-damn throat?

Safety first, motherfucker.

I know your american and your culture leads you to believe you need AR15's 24 hours a day because at any point your government could revolt and murder all its people... but in England, we don't think we are going to be murdered at any moment.

Touche.

As I'm from backwoods middle of nowhere mountains USA, as you predicted, a couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting one of http://www.ruger.com/products/ar556/models.html a couple hundred times at a bathroom vanity that had been replaced by something better before we dragged it off to the dump.

Wonderful stress relief. 10/10 would recommend. I still don't have the guts to kill animals, though. Too damn cute. Ran over a squirrel once because here in Murica we're allowed to drive fast sometimes... on the normal human being side of the road. Poor little guy didn't stand a chance.

Dude I own guns.

We are not all mental anti-fun socialists you think we are.

My old HK416, although I shoot 99% other stuff now. Less paperwork, more of a challenge, more fun.
