I've been lurking this forum for quite some time now... long time. I still can't get around the idea of self promotion as much as I would like to, but I guess I will eventually get to that point.
A little bit about me and why I am here:
I have been producing electronic music and djing for years (10+) on and off ofc. Now I've decided to take this seriously and somehow I thought this forum would be an excellent way to make my first moves.
The problem is I've always sucked at self promotion, marketing and stuff like that. That's the very reason why I didn't do very well as a DJ. Well at least thats what I think because I consider myself a very good DJ and an average to good producer. The technical/artistic side of it I think I pretty much got it covered. But again, I struggle with the promotion so bad that I have been hardly getting any gigs the last times I've tried to get them and well. That led to a long break from music.
So this time I would like to give it a second go, but put a lot of effort on social media marketing, SEO, and everything this forum is basically about.
I don't want to make an electronic music blog or website. I want to self promote my work, to rank my mixes high. To get my name up there and start getting some action.
If there's anyone here that went this way, and might have some good advice it will be greatly appreciated. So reach out if you do please and tell me your secrets. lol
