I am joining here as I am a former blackhat hacker under a different name that dealt a lot in fraudulent activities. However those days are over, and I am aware that none of that content is acceptable here, and I wish to carry my knowledge forward to Blackhat SEO to participate in Blackhat SEO methods.
Of course, I am very new to it, but I am trying to understand what I am reading to the best of my ability.

To my understanding, a lot of methods seem to be extremely similar, creating blogs, with ads or leads and making videos to send traffic to the blog? Would this be correct? Also what are backlinks or how do I use them?

Yes, most methods are close to similar.. Once you get a general knowledge of how internet marketing is done, you will be able to do any method you like..

Backlinks are links from other sites leading to your site, that increases your SE rankings..
