Just taking a moment to introduce myself, and say "hello."
I have read a few topics in one of your forums and found them illuminating! I've posted a few questions of my own, in the same forum.
I'm a mom. I have two children. My daughter and I are attempting (very slowly and as cautiously as possible) to work our way into selling online. I had, a domain name and drop shipper set up. But.. In the end, I found it UTTERLY frustrating. I became very familiar with the back office itself. However understanding XML uploading of orders and figuring out how the end result of a sale via paypal, etc., would work?! Too frightening for an old gal.
I backed away.
Over the years, with two kids and living way out in the country..getting rid of toys, household goods, etc., is nearly impossible. Well, unless you want to take everything to the landfill. I, think that's crazy. For various reasons. So, we plan to sell on ebay. Which comes with a slough of concerns, itself. Most of those concerns we hope to address by seeking out good advice we find from, here.
If I possessed the knowledge for building my own website, I would have done that. I don't. And.. As a older mom, I do not have the time to fiddle with such things. I will, have to learn the in and outs of ebay. Less of a job to some fair degree once you know a few things. IMHO.
I will take the time to learn what I can of ebay selling and perfectly acceptable ways around their horrid fees.
Reasons: Presently - To help myself unload many household items. Help my kids, sell some of their items.
Ultimately-To assist with funding. Job hunting for young people (living where we do), for a few extra dollars is extremely difficult. It's hard enough for anyone. Worse for young ones living remotely.
So, mom intends to help where she can. If you love your kids.. You understand, perfectly.
