Do you have have little idea on YouTube monetization or you have none?

I think I have some basic idea. But not so much in detail.
I know they want something "transformative" but thats a broad term.
Its kind of confusing to be honest

Welcome to the forum.
Good starting point with Shorts, just focus on picking a clear niche and staying consistent.
Study what’s already working in your space, focus heavily on strong hooks in the first 1–2 seconds, and don’t overthink production early on.
Once you find what gets traction, then scale into long-form.

What I do is to clip an important highlight of a big podcast, add captions, music, some sound effects on transitions, maybe some stock videos here and there, some little animated popups pictures or arrows or words that pop up while the speaker talks, like and subscribe animation, watermark. And some framing with keyframes.

Do you think is this enough to get me monetized on these type of videos or my edits need to be more "transformative" and in which way they can/should be?

Your current approach is a solid base, but on its own it’s often not enough for consistent monetization on YouTube Shorts.

The key issue is “transformative value” YouTube doesn’t just look at edits, it looks at whether you’re adding clear original input beyond repackaging existing podcast content.

Right now your setup is mostly enhancement (captions, SFX, zooms, overlays), which is good for retention, but still close to raw reuploads.

To make it stronger and safer for monetization, you’d want to add at least one layer of real transformation:
  • Narrative framing (context before/after the clip, not just mid-section extraction)
  • Commentary or insight (even short voiceover or text perspective)
  • Editing that changes meaning or structure (not just visual polish)
  • Strong thematic packaging (compilations around a specific idea, not random highlights)

So in simple terms:
Editing improves performance, but transformation is what improves monetization eligibility.

If you combine both, good retention edits + clear added value/angle, you’re in a much safer position.

AI commentary will work for a narrative framing before/after the clip?
Also what do you mean exactly on the last two bullet points? Can you give me some examples so I can understand better?

Welcome Kopas, hope you enjoy. Youtube shorts are great.
