Yo,

Been reading BHW for a while, finally decided to make an account.

I'm a developer and spend most of my time building random SaaS projects, automations, scraping stuff, and testing whatever ideas seem interesting. I don't know everything, but I've broken enough things to have a few useful lessons.

Hopefully I'll be able to share some of the things I'm working on and some experiments/results in the future. Also looking forward to learning from everyone here.

The scraping and automation background is going to be really handy around here. What are you usually scraping with, custom scripts or something off the shelf? Would like to see some of your results when you post them.

Mostly custom. I built the scraping and automation stack myself around Python, with different approaches depending on the project.

One of the more fun ones was Gaming Lotus (a digital game store I had in the past0, where I scraped prices across multiple game stores and marketplaces to always surface the best available deals. It was a surprisingly interesting challenge because every source behaved differently.

More recently I've been applying similar techniques to XLeadify (my X Lead generation tool which I'll talk about it later in the future), although there the focus is much more on large-scale data collection, automation, and keeping everything reliable over time rather than price aggregation.

I'll definitely share some results and interesting findings as I go. Hopefully they'll be useful to others here too.
