Hello BHW, and thank you for having me. I was a free lancer in the graphic design/marketing space for about five years before I found my forever home last year as Director of Operations for a cannabis retailer.

I came here hoping to pick up some useful tips for driving website traffic outside of Google and Meta as those platforms are extremely limiting when it comes to cannabis.

My time lurking here has taught me that I am drastically underqualified to generate the results I want, and I would be much better off creating an affiliate program or joining an existing network. I hope to hash out which option is best and get feedback from the pros in this community on what I can do to make my affiliate offer appealing.

We are all underqualified until we learn new things and become qualified. I suggest you research on content marketing. Also you can use the search function here at the top right (the magnifying glass), to search for topics that interest you.
I agree with you in principle. I've taught myself many things and encourage others to invest the time into learning new things. But, I have other responsibilities to manage and so many others are already on top on this. Additionally changing regulations are a constant threat to our business and there is urgency to "get while the getting is good". I have to weigh where I can contribute the most. To me it seems like the most efficient way forward is to pay pros a commission to do what they do. But, maybe I'm wrong. It's happened before :)

Test your website’s usability with real users to uncover friction points.
Thank you for the input. I am pretty confident in this area. My conversion rate stays between 3.5 and 4. I am just limited by the nature of the industry when it comes to driving traffic. Most traditional marketing channels are closed to cannabis. I am seeing some traffic from digital billboards, but air gaps are killers, I need to get some links in front of folks.
