I have actually never heard anyone say that they are new to the internet. You are in for quite a daunting task, my friend.
Have no fear, all that is required is a strong spirit to continue forward. You will learn easily. Most important of all is to remember that actual experience is far more powerful than just research alone.

Never too late to start!
Were all learners here...learning never stops and it happens everywhere
But dont let learning become a displacement activity
Read a bit...and take action on a method that you have resources to follow through on (time, $, skills)
