    few years? that long?

If you didn't take action in that much time, you don't have a lot of time to waste, because the opportunity window is starting to close, and a lot of regulations are starting to pop up.

    Stop reading, take action!!

    Yes a few years!

I have been working tons of overtime at my day job looking for ways out. It pays well but I want my life back. 10+ hours a day 6+ days a week for a few years really wears on you.

All this has finally started clicking for me and I am close to being financially able to support the initial startup costs involved. I have tried my hand at different sites before I really understood keyword research. I wasted a lot of time but learned some valuable lessons along the way. I already have Adobe Master Collection CS6 that I bought while I was in school and various other programs and devices that will definitely help.

I'm more of a researcher than someone who posts asking for a handout of information, hence why it took so long to register.

Now I just need to commit and get the ball rolling!

I understand where you're coming from...

Here's another advice, related to "being financially able to support the initial startup costs involved": Making a big investment doesn't mean you will get more or at least equal back! So don't think money is the bottleneck, because it isn't...

Start small and learn, but try to build a business!!! and not an income stream... or at least have the big picture in mind. Income streams come and go but a business (you control at least 2 parts of the 3 part equation - product-distribution-client) and skills/knowledge are the most important assets you can have.

Yes, I've learned that the hard way too. I've bought into so many "hobbies to make me money" and I never committed and ended up spending a ton of cash. I've never had much money and when I landed a decent job, I got excited and subconsciously thought that I could buy success. I was talking more about hosting fees, domain name registration, etc

Currently I'm having trouble picking a niche that I can write a lot of articles about. I can think of a few things but 80+ articles is tough for me to find something I can write that much about without saying the same thing over and over. I am very persistent so I will find something soon.

Since I currently have a career, I am able to focus on building my sites up slowly without worrying about paying the bills. Eventually I would like to be full time with the websites though but it will probably take a while to make a similar income.
