Yo guys!

What's up? My name is Max. I recently graduated from university and I am now putting all my effort into becoming a client SEO. I am a complete SEO newb and I am struggling which direction to go

I am trying to acquire my first SEO client, so I can get some budget to actually get some real experience ranking websites. Do you think I need to create a website before outreaching to prospects? Should I focus on marketing myself as an SEO guy for a particular niche/area or just try and get any business I can and take people from anywhere. Any pointers greatly appreciated guys! :)

You can do a great deal of harm to someone's website, business and livelihood if you start trying to do SEO on their website without a clue what you are doing.
You've openly admitted you are new to SEO and you have taken the first steps by finding these forums where you can learn about it.
So, as these other guys have pointed out, learn about it first, then get clients.

bevor looking for clients you should have some clue what you are doing ....

No one is going to hire you. Set up a wordpress blog and try and rank that, do that over and over again until your skills have value THEN you sell it. No one will pay you to learn SEO unless you get an entry level role in an agency and they will still expect basic SEO knowledge.

Why the h*ll would you want SEO clients if you don't know what you are doing?

Because it is cheaper to fuck all over other people's websites and get paid, rather than fuck your own sites up.

Once I acquire a client, I believe I will be able to rank them, using resources I have paid for- Scientific Rankings from Lion Zeal. I am certainly not trying to screw anybody over, if I obtained a client I would relentlessly work to outrank their competitors- using the training materials from Scientific Rankings and the mastermind. However, I respect what you guys are saying- is there anyway I can get experience ranking sites cheaply without a PBN?

You're missing the point.

If you decided you wanted to build a house and bought some course from the internet, then someone bought a plot of land and wanted a builder to buold their home, would you offer to build their house for them without any actual hands on experience ?

So Mr Smith has his little family business and they trust it in your hands to rank it on page 1, what happens when the site drops from page 2 to page 20 and you don't know how to rectify it?

You should do as I said earlier, get some of your own sites built, then test and re test your seo course on those sites and not of any client.

Yup, I get what you are saying. Before doing client work, I vow to get reallly good at SEO, expect lots more posts from me! P.S- is this is main forum for SEOs in general?

Thanks
