Welcome to our great community. Wales is a great country and I have been to almost every part of South Wales with my job. We've considered moving to Wales to escape the rat race and high costs of England.

HI Jamie Pontypool, SE Wales. Love the West coast we do allot of travelling in our caravan from the north down through the west stopping off along the way to explore the beaches. Will be back again this year

I almost got Pontypool mixed up with Pontypridd for a minute there.
My great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandfather built the bridge in Pontypridd, its a shame that they built the modern road bridge right up against it because it is a really beautiful bridge. There is a statue of him in that park nearby I think. Someone in the family possibly him wrote the welsh national anthem which I have to admit I don't know by heart but at least I do speak welsh. I'm from Caerphilly but live in Las Vegas. Glad to see a fellow member from Wales.
I used to love going to one of the agricultural show nearby as a kid because my parents used to show rabbits and would get tons of free passes. I would take one of my mates with me and we would go stand 100 yards up from the gate selling exhibitors passes to people for half the price it would cost them to get in lol, those were good times. It's really beautiful in Pontypool though, and in the Usk valley

Haha when you said west coast i thought you meant west Wales! Although i would love to tour "the" west coast in a caravan i don't think that would be feasible!
It's a small world for sure, us Welsh get everywhere, thanks for the warm welcome
P.S if a relative did write the national anthem I would suggest a trip to Cardiff and the Principality stadium on a Six Nations Rugby match to truly appreciate its splendour!

lol I spent half my youth growing up in Cardiff, it was only 15 minutes on the train from Caerphilly into Cardiff central. I wasn't the one who said the west coast though I think that was jamie3000
but yeah I'm on the west coast of the US at the moment. Thankfully we ware moving back very soon, been saying that for the last three years but it looks like it is finally happening in the next few months.I have only been in the stadium once and that was back in 2008 or 2009 for the Wales V Japan World cup match. I remember Japan scored the try of the world cup that match and my wife caught it on video. I have to say I jumped out of my seat cheering and realized. Oh shit I'm right in the middle of all the wales fans here better not get too excited at Japan scoring a try lol. I'm really not into sports at all but that was a blast and a hell of an atmosphere.

Interesting fact: Romanian people were called "Vlachs" in the past ("Wallachian"). The english term for "Vlachs" is "Welsh" (the people from Wales). Our common (recent, because we can dig deeper into the history, to the northern Greece, and so on) root is supposed to be somewhere in the Switzerland&Austria teritory from today, from the "Volcae tribe". The Volcae tribe was integrated into the Romans, and became latin speakers. German neighbors called everyone who spoke a Latin language "Walhaz people (strangers)", (all the way, from Wales to Romania, and even more).

I love Wales. I've gone on trekking tours all over, and it's beautiful countryside. Also, loved the Welsh people, super friendly and nice.
