Just start and keep going. That's the very best advice you'll ever get regarding this subject.
Once your first idea fails, try again. When that fails and the next one and the next...try again. Then you'll hit upon the magic combination of 1) not too competitive for a nOOb to succeed in 2) converting traffic is decently profitable. Once you find that...scale it on up (more traffic) and work on tweaking the content to optimize conversion rates (improving traffic to $$$ ratio).

This is my super secret foolproof method for IM success. Usually a one-time $1,000 fee for this super-secret IM "system" but since you're a fellow Seattleite I'll let you have it for free ;-)
