I had been once to Liverpool for work for a day (January 1995. I had traveled to UK on a sw project from NYC, my office was in NYC. I am from India). I loved the city and the wind... wow! It was terrible! lol. I and my friend thought that we would be flying. It was such a great effort just walking in that wind! But we both loved it and the part of the city where we walked that day! The train journey from and to London (where I worked) was very beautiful. The picturesque landscapes, townscapes and beautiful villages, lovely olden houses, overpasses, ... and the entry into Liverpool and the sight of the bay was just like a lovely dream! WOW!

Your mention of Liverpool took me back in time!
