Hello from Germany

Hello BHW,

as you can see my name is "Kejko". I am registered since 2014 on BHW, but never really post much or give back value to this amazing forum.

Why? I don't really know, but I guess it is, because I didn't real projects in Internet Marketing.

I am 22 years old an from germany. Currently I own an Instagram Account with 18k follower, which is pretty small, but a beginning. I will start investing my money in some online courses to get SEO knowledge.

At the moment I make some money with webdesign with WordPress. I am looking forward to make 2016 a great year and want to build some niche sites as well. Also I have some bigger ideas, where I create digital products. The advantage I have is, that the Internet Marketing scene in USA is 3 - 4 years ahead than the scene in germany. So probably I could earn a lot of money just with translating and adapting the US content to german content.

But I don't know. I will just absorb all the knowledge I get and make my own content.

I wanted to start with a personal blog about Online and Social Marketing.

The main problems I have is, that I don't know how to get a page in the top google ranks. In the past I tougth content and meta-tags would be enough. But I am very unfamiliar with backlinks.

Hi, and welcome. I think you'll gain enough knowledge from BHW so don't waste your money on some SEO courses. Meta tags and content is not enough to get high rankings in most cases. There's a lot of good guides on this forum, I would also suggest you buy backlinks.

Buying backlinks? Are you sure? Because that is kind of blackhat SEO and on the long term my ranking would be worse, wouldn't it?

No. Just no. Everything you need to know can be found somewhere here on bhw - for free.
Do not spend money on shitty online courses. You will regret it later.

Well, buying backlinks is a broad term. Is there any way Google could penalize you for paying someone a few bucks to write a review about one of your products on his blog? I guess not. (But you are right, it is against their TOS)

However, first read & learn about SEO, then decide what to buy (or not to buy). SEO is never the same, it really depends on your strategy how you build your links.

I have the feeling that the search for all the topics in this area would need a lot of extra time? So I tought an online course, where everything is ordered would be good?

Okay. I tought he meant some fiverr gigs or something like this. When I pay an influential blogger or an authority site it would be a difference, I agree.
