I joined a while ago but the email confirmation just arrived :)

I do have a question though, why do I need to have 15 posts before I can PM someone?

Brum, right now I'm in Norfolk, though I did live in Coventry years ago, and I remember Ladypool Road well as I'm a Curryholic :). I can tell it's nice and friendly on this forum from all the replies so far. I'm doing a lot of reading and not that many posts, I don't want to to be an annoying noob :). BTW the only thing I am short of right now is an invite to the bitme site, just throwing it out there if anyone could help me out, I can swap for an invite to sites I'm on just PM me. I have had an idea to start a survival supply business here in the UK as I haven't found any good suppliers for a lot of stuff that's common in the US, if anyone wants to tell me it's a great or terrible idea let me know.

What do you mean survival supply? Are you looking to import products to sell? What sort of things.

Oh, and there are plenty of good currys on Ladypool Road. I used to work in Earlsdon in Coventry.

I mean what in the US is known as Prepping, it's a survival preparedness movement, mostly having stocks of food, independent water supply, heat and power, sort of like The Good Life with Americans, it's gotten much bigger in the US since the financial crisis and I've been looking at what is available over here, which is not much. For example over in the US many people can their own food in glass jars using a pressure canner, which is similar to a pressure cooker and they are pretty hard to get here and also very expensive, there isn't a one stop shop for this sort of thing. You can get some things like freeze dried food in cans that will last 25 years and that is also expensive, most of the survival stuff over here is geared towards wilderness survival, Rambo knives, camping supplies etc
