I have just realized that I haven't actually introduced myself when I created an account and before my initial post, so here it goes. My name is Matija and I'm 27 year old male from Croatia. My passion has always been web design & development (more focus on development), but I have gotten more into digital marketing as a whole in the past year or so.
Regarding web development, I have initially started with WordPress, creating a couple of smaller projects for friends. After that, I started working with my brother, who has a few online businesses, where I am still working to this day. This is where I really improved my core WordPress knowledge. By that, I don't mean only how to build nice websites using visual builders, but how the WP functions as a whole. For that, of course, I had to learn some PHP which was painful, but very rewarding experience. Also, since everything he had was hosted on his own servers, I learned many things about various Linux distributions and the server management as a whole too.
I have recently launched an agency providing web design & development, social media advertising and SEO optimization, which I'll be running alongside the current job (until it gets big enough to have it as my only source of income). The web design & development part will all be done personally by me, while the social media advertising and SEO optimization will be done with the help of a friend. This is where I feel like this forum is also going to be incredibly helpful, with such a large amount of useful resources available.
That is a rough overview of my digital experience and my future plans. I'm really looking forward to becoming an active member of the BHW community.
