Hey mate and welcome on board! :)

It's great to hear you're diving into SEO because there is a huge potential behind it. As a person who is working on SEO for a long time, I wanted to share my 2 cents with you. The trick to become a good learner is to remain curious, to be patient, and simply keep playing! First things first: nail the basics down. There are some killer free resources out there, like https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo, a blog at https://backlinko.com/seo-basics-for-beginners, and https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/seo-starter-guide These will give you the necessary background and help you comprehend what SEO is all about.

Once you have the fundamentals, it's time to get your hands dirty. Theory is one thing, but the real learning comes with practice. Start your own small blog or website and see how different SEO tactics work on it. Fiddle with on-page procedures, such as optimizing titles and meta descriptions and content, and feel how off-page procedures are done-for instance, building a few backlinks. (You can get backlin from here too ;) )
You can also dive deep into how search engines like Google really work: the crawling, indexing, and ranking. It's crucial to understand them because they're driving each of your further decisions on SEO.

SEO keeps on changing day by day, so try to make it a habit to be updated about what's new around. Follow Neil Patel, Brian Dean, Rand Fishkin-that's three of the big industry leaders right there. Observe SEO forums (BHW has great sub forums about SEO too), and once in a while, do read about fresh algorithm updates.

Networking also plays a big role in SEO. Don't be afraid to reach out and connect with others in the industry. Join discussions, ask questions, and share your own experiences. The SEO community is super helpful, and there's always someone around who would help with a solution or advice. And above all, remember: SEO is a long game. Results always take time, so don't feel discouraged when that success just doesn't appear overnight. Keep learning, keep testing, and keep refining. Payoffs will eventually start to happen.

Good luck! : )
