If you're just starting out, I'd go something along the lines of :

1. Understand the basics of networking - network types, models, ip addressing, subnetting, network devices.
2. Practical skills - setting up a small network and using simpler network commands
3. Study protocols deeper - HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, IMAP, DNS, etc.
4. Networking security - Firewalls, Encryption, threats, etc
5. Move onto advanced topics and get more practical experience.

Of course, it all depends on your personal goals
