Nice to be in this dark and yellow part of the universe.

I just lost my job working in a data centre because I am a habitual drink driver (no licence to drive car any more). So I'm thinking about giving this work in your underwear thing a crack.

How would you best advise I use this skill set:

intermediate level programmer (c# Java, JavaScript
good writer (I have a humanities degree ...)
no girlfriend (time galore)
knowledge on many subjects (read a lot of books)

All I have done so far is join TrafficMonsoon.

Take action would be my advice. Take a look at the making money/journey section, pick something and get started. Your knowledge seems well suited to IM, so you should pick things up pretty quickly.
