Hi to everyone!

I'm experienced web developer, so have a lot of knowledge about website creation but have little knowledge about SEO and marketing. I've decided that enough just making websites for other people, it's time to own some also. I'm thinking to start with a content website to gain some experience and then try to create some SaaS maybe. Right now I'm studying things like DA, PA and is there any possible downsides of buying an existing domain with good DA & PA instead of registering a new one and promoting it with my content from the start.

Will appreciate any tips and suggestions.

Buying an existing/expired domain with good DA/PA can give you a head start, but watch out for its history (like penalties or spammy backlinks).

I guess I will need some tools for proper domain history check(like Ahrefs or Semrush?), will study this topic. Thank you!
