Hi my name is Lemon.

I'm hoping to learn a lot about SEO on this forum I can see there is a lot of references to read.

Currently trying to figure out what keywords i should use for my Digital Services website.

Anyone got any recommendations on what to read?

Thanks,

Lemon :)

Hey Lemon, and welcome to BHW. As far as keywords, I always start by conducting a Competitive Keyword Analysis through Semrush or Ahrefs. I enter my top 3-5 competitors, review which keywords they're ranking for, the competitiveness of the keyword, and then decide if I'm going to tackle any of those keywords. From there, I might also conduct a deep dive by using KWfinder to identify some of the long tail keywords associated with the keywords found in Semrush/Ahrefs. I always target low competition KWs to get my rankings ignited. I progress to higher competitive KWs as I rank and gain authority........ There's a lot more tied to this (such as competitive site analysis), but I gave you the bird's eye view of my approach.

Sounds good. What does your digital services company do?

Mostly Web Design & Development at the minute.

Thanks for that info, was a little confused on which level of "competition" keywords i should go with. Web design is very high competition so I think I need to do quite a bit of research.

Web design is very competitive niche, so you need to invest a lot of money and time to get result here. But you can use some alternative ways to get your customers, such as freelance sites: upwork, fiverr etc. Maybe, then you won't need Google ;-)
