Hi everyone,
I am a mobile/web developer here in the US. I've been lurking BHW for a while now and decided to finally make an account. I've never been a marketing guy (very terrible at it), so the content and strategies here on BHW really gave me some insights.
With that being said, I do a lot of work with Ruby on Rails, WordPress (I hate custom PHP work on it, but I guess the plugin marketplace gives it justice), and Apache Cordova/PhoneGap/Ionic Framework. I have some projects here and there as well as some ideas that I would love to monetize passively, or actively, given if it makes a lot of $$$.
Currently, I'm in the boat of "why are my marketing efforts not working" for some of my apps. I've spent quite a bit of $$$ to get traffic to my apps (Google PPC, paid app installs, Facebook campaigns, etc.), but did not see any ROI from those. The apps are primarily web-based tools/services, and a few Android/iOS games. It seems that it's very difficult to get organic traffic without some sort of blog/article within and outside of these mobile/web apps, in my opinion, and based from what I've gathered so far here in BHW, those things are especially important to keep costs down for paid traffic.
Anyways, I hope to meet new people on here and perhaps exchange a few ideas. I would love to have some sort of automated passive income, and hopefully BHW can help me get to that goal
