The thing is that I'm a wreck both emotionally and financially for a long time and work from 09:00 - 18:00 to maintain this situation, but it's really not worth the emotional cost that it inflicts on me day by day. I was into computers since a little kid until now (currently 27) but unfortunately never neither learned how the whole IM works nor went to a college/university. The situation here in Greece is really really bad, as many may be familiar so I'm about to quit my job because I really can't take it anymore, and focus on IM.
This is all very new to me and I'm a total newbie so failure may be inevitable as far as I can see, at least at the beginning.

So, should what are the first baby steps for a total newbie (except reading BHW)? Maybe buy domain/hosting and opening a wordpress site just to see how it works? Should I start to learn the basics of web developing/design or is it too late for that and not that important anymore?

Suggestions would be really welcome.
