Glad to be here, here's some info about me:
I was originally attracted to IM several years ago when I stumbled upon this forum, but never really pursued it. I made the decision about 1 year ago to not finish my college degree and pursue my own entrepreneurial endeavors. After dropping out I thumbed through my black notebook where I write all my ideas, and picked the one I was most passionate about and felt had the most potential. During the planning, and r&d phase of the project I reached the step where I was ready to build my web presence. Being cash poor, but rich in time and determination I decided to learn to build the site myself. During the time I spent learning html, css, various fundamentals of web & graphic design I realized I had way more interest in the web design and programming aspect of marketing than the physical product I spent months researching and preparing to market. I had put in an enormous amount of time and effort researching and developing my product, but knew I barely shaved the surface of the time, and work it would take to cost effectively manufacture said product.
Eventually I lost nearly all desire to see the product launch through and decided to focus my time on learning as much as I can about web design, programming, and other computer languages. Judging from my current learning abilities I developed a 3 month outline of what I needed to learn and more much time spent practicing to become proficient enough to freelance. The only downside I saw was that my income would be almost inexplicably tied to the time I spent working. I knew that the higher I set my financial goals the more time I would have to spend. Of course its not completely linear as the better you become the more you'll be able to charge and the less time it'll take to complete tasks due to your experience; however, it still didn't feel right.
Enter Internet Marketing - With a newly acquired skillset (intermediate, yet constantly improving) in web development, and the desire to make money passively and location independent, I've never been so sure that I know what I want. I look forward to the day I can offer money making methods, ideas, scripts, etc. Until then I'll keep binge reading the abundant info this site has to offer. I wish you all the best and thank you for sharing your knowledge because it is truly power.
